The 13th of December is the day of memorial for the “Rape of Nanking” in 1931 during Japan’s invasion of China during the Second World War. Korea’s KBS reported that Uber, a rideshare and taxi service that is operated by a smartphone app, was banned in multiple countries. On the 8th, the Holland had already officially banned the use of Uber and the Spanish government was reported to have done the same on the 9th. According to Chosunbiz, Korean scientists working at the Jang Boko Science (Korean Polar Research Institute) Base in Antarctica announced they have discovered a meteorite. The research center reported that this was the largest meteorite that was ever found by Korean scientists. It was found at a location some 300 kilometers away from the base. READ MORE

AP and CNN reported that at 7am on the 5th of December, NASA reported that they had finally succeeded in launching the Orion which is America’s next generation manned spacecraft that will be replacing the space shuttle. The fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is still continuing. The 6 Middle Eastern countries, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Oman and Bahrain, that from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have officially announced that they will be militarily participating in the war with ISIS. South Korea’s Donga Ilbo reported that China, Japan and India have announced that their respective governments and respective space agencies have are planning to start a new space race which involves exploration of the moon. All three powers proclaimed that they will “conquer” the moon in search of resources. They hope to reach the moon between 2017 and 2018. South Korea’s News 1 reported that North Korea’s “Arirang”, a traditional musical performance has been approved and registered into the UNESCO Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. AP and Yonhap News reported that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) confirmed that the first testing of the potential vaccine for the Ebola Virus has produced some hopeful results. 20 people were recruited from the ages 18 to 50 for human testing. On the 22nd of November, with Thanksgiving only a few days away, a group of Christian college students gathered in front of a local juvenile camp in Pomona, California with the purpose of bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to the minors. The students are members of KCCC (Korea Campus Crusade for Christ), one of the largest Korean-American Christian ministries in the U.S. The team was originally planning to carry out their ministry earlier in October, but because if some logistical difficulties, it had to be delayed.
