Higher Calling Conference is one of the largest Korean-American conferences for Christian young-adults in the United States. With the conference less than 2 weeks away, KCCC (Korea Campus Crusade for Christ) staff, student leadership and many local Korean-American church leaders are constantly promoting the event and preparing for the conference, where over 2,000 high school and college students will be participating. Meanwhile, KCCC will be starting a series of prayer meetings to continue interceding for Higher Calling.

From December 8th to December 19th, KCCC students from all the campuses in Southern California will be gathering in Los Angeles every morning to intercede for the conference. The 2 weeks before the conference will see the beginning of HIP or Higher Calling Intercessory Prayer.

KCCC campus ministries host hour-long morning prayers on weekdays. Student leaders will be taking turns to lead the prayers. The students gather in classrooms and even outside in the middle of their campuses, interceding for their ministry and the salvation of fellow students and faculty.

Starting on December 8th, all the campuses of the KCCC LA region will gather at the KCCC headquarters to specifically pray for Higher Calling Conference, which is KCCC’s largest and most important event for the fall semester and quarter. Students will be gathering at 7am in Los Angeles. All the students and leaders will still be in school, with some starting final examinations, and yet many will be driving to LA from as far as Irvine, Riverside and even San Diego.

The congregation will be praying over very specific prayer topics including safety of the staff, crew, and students, leadership, food, the special teams, and even the weather; all factors that could influence the conference. KCCC staff and church leaders are also continuing to raise funds to support students who have financial difficulties. There have been many cases where older students would pay the fee for younger students so they could share the blessings from the conference and to discover God’s calling to them.

Student representatives from each college campus will be taking turns to prepare breakfast which will be served after every prayer session. Students from the University of Southern California (USC) will be first in line.

Preparations for Higher Calling are well on the way. Special teams including media, dance, and music are continually rehearsing to perform before God and to deliver the Gospel message to non-believing attendees, and crew are even now at the conference site in San Diego preparing the stage.
