Students of the University of Southern California (USC) are hosting an event called “After Dark” on campus with the motto, “where music and message meet”. Christian students of USC have been advertising the event wearing matching T-shirts and large banners simply as a “free event” that “you cannot miss”.
The event “After Dark” will be composed of a number of musical performances by the singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin and hip-hop artist Tedashii. Following these performances is a presentation by Joe White with a topic: Is Jesus relevant today? Students of USC have purposefully been advertising “After Dark” as a free music event with great performances so the ministry could reach out to students who are non-believers.
According to their website, AFTERDARK is a dynamic one night event specifically designed to relate to college students from all walks of life on campuses from coast to coast. They use music to deliver the message of God to college students all over the nation. The overall purpose is to give students a presentation on who Jesus really is and to let them decide for themselves if they wish to accept him into their lives as Savior and Lord.
The ministry started in 2000, and since then, 400,000 lives have been brought to Christ. “After Dark” is not only a concert, but is also a place where students to participate in an open conversation about Jesus Christ.
The “After Dark” event at USC will be held on the 12th of November at 8 pm at the university’s administration building, Bovard Auditorium. Many Christian students are already planning on participating and hoping to invite non-Christian friends for their salvation.
