Korean pop music fans are still trying to overcome the shock of Jessica, one of the members of Korea’s top female pop group, “Girls’ Generation” (SNSD) leaving the team to pursue a career in business. Despite the scandals and some conflicts between the pop start and their agency (SM Entertainment), “TTS”, a smaller group within the larger “Girls’ Generation” earned 1st place in one of Korea’s most notable music shows, “Music Bank” (KBS 2TV).
“TTS”or "TaeTiSeo" is a smaller team that is made up of 3 of SNSD’s key members, and the team was named after the first letters of their names; Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyeon. The team performed their latest hit song, “Holler” and once again rose to the top of Korea’s pop music market to tumultuous applause and approval from both the audience and the judges.
Many other notable K-pop groups were present at the “Music Bank” set including “BEAST”, “Sistar”, “Girls’ Day”, “BTOB”, “A-Pink”, “AOA” and “Tiara”. All very popular groups and boy bands.
Only a few days ago, “Girls’ Generation” fans in both Korea and all over the world were shocked to find that one of the key members, Jessica had decided to leave the group to pursue an education in business and focus on her private fashion business, “Blang”. It is also reported that she is now engaged to her Korean American boyfriend, Tyler Kwon. There was some uncertainty as to how all this took place, since SM Entertainment insiders had told the press that it was Jessica herself who had informed the company that she will no longer be able to continue her pop star career, while she posted on her personal blog a statement that made it sound like SM had let her go.
“Girls’ Generation” was about to embark on a tour in China only days before it was announced that Jessica had decided to stop her pop star career. However, SM Entertainment reported that the pop stars will continue on with their scheduled events, including meetings with fans, radio, and one of the members Sooyeong will continue with her role in the Korean soap opera, “The 3rd Hospital”. The only program that was canceled was their participation in “Super Junior’s Kiss The Radio” (KBS FM).
Meanwhile, after “TTS” was nominated 1st place in this episode of “Music Bank”, Taeyeon expressed great gratitude to all the “Girls’ Generation” fans and her teammates. Another member, Tiffany said she would like to thank SM Entertainment whom she called “family” for all their help and support.
