Justin Bieber may have had a tumultuous road to recovering his good boy image but the Canadian singing sensation can definitely rely on one solid thing in his life - the love of his own mother. In an Instagram message posted in time for Mother's Day this year, the Baby singer echoed the exact sentiments, according to Irish Mirror.
"This little 4'9 woman may not look like a mom but she is, and she's the best at it!" shared Bieber to his Instagram followers on Sunday, referring to his mom, Pattie Mallette. "This woman taught me everything I know, how to love how to be compassionate how to be strong when the only thing u wanna be is weak how to stand when all you want to do is fall. If it wasn't for this woman lets (sic) just say I would have had a way LONGER stupid phase. I love u and thank u for not giving up on me!"
Bieber's past actions not only caused the public to be disappointed in him but also on his parents especially his mother. Many questioned the type of parenting they were applying to the teen idol who turned into an almost criminal right at their very eyes.
"When your kids hit a certain age your parenting style changes and it is hard letting go," explained Mallette in an interview with People. "His life was my life and now I've had to let him go a little bit and let him be independent. It is hard to not be able to control everything that your adult child does."
She then went on to directly address the critics, saying, "A lot of people might think that I have my head in the sand or that I am oblivious to the things my son is doing." Mallette added, "I know who my son is and I don't always agree with every single thing that he does but I don't necessarily have to address that with everyone else. He's my son and I have to respect he is not going to want me going around being 'that mom' talking about his behavior."
As widely reported by tabloids everywhere, Bieber had been making the headlines due to his rowdy and sometimes even bordering criminal behavior in the past. In an earlier report, it was discussed that the pop singer's previous bad behavior ranged from silly childish pranks to downright criminal offenses. He was apprehended for dangerous driving and punching the members of the paparazzi. He also earned the ire of animal rights activists when he irresponsibly abandoned a monkey in his visit in Germany.
Bieber also offended some politically-sensitive citizens when he reportedly urinated into a mop bucket while screaming "f*ck Bill Clinton!" He was also dragged into a lengthy and highly publicized investigation when one of his neighbors complained that the pop star, along with some of his friends, egged his home. This debacle even ignited an inspection of drug-related paraphernalia found in Bieber's home.
The most widely covered spectacle in the singer's long list of misdeeds was his fist fight with "The Lord of The Rings" star, Orlando Bloom, allegedly over the latter's ex-wife, Miranda Kerr.
However, the Boyfriend singer appeared to be cleaning up his act recently. Striving to get a fresh start, Bieber even submitted himself to the Comedy Central Roast and bravely faced the jokes aimed at him and his past actions. "I think it's cool to be able to laugh at yourself. I just want to own up to some of the things [I've done]," the heartthrob then explained, referring to his decision to take on the comedians.
