Justin Bieber was featured as the latest celebrity to surprise Ellen DeGeneres in her show on Wednesday, which later on prompted the singer to post a video in his social networking accounts to address his reprehensible behavior in the past months, the Rolling Stone reported.
Bieber's visit in the show was in celebration of the host's birthday. The 20-year-old singer brought with him a bouquet of flowers and a box of Calvin Klein underwear, a brand he currently endorses, as gifts for DeGeneres.
Despite the show's cheery atmosphere, however, Bieber appeared anxious and uncomfortable. As the conversation progressed, the pop star eventually admitted that he was "nervous" because he felt as if the audience was judging him.
He reiterated the same sentiment in the video he posted on his Facebook account. Bieber poured his heart out to give his fans and followers a glimpse of his emotional and psychological struggles. Apart from admitting that "growing up in this [entertainment industry] is hard," he also shared his desire to break out of the bad image he created for himself in the past months.
"Today I was on Ellen and it was a lot of fun ... but I was afraid of what people are thinking about me right now. It's been a minute since I've been in a public appearance and I didn't want to come off arrogant or conceited or basically how I've been acting in the past year, year and a half," he shared in the clip.
One of the topics that came up during Bieber's conversation with DeGeneres was his decision to submit himself to the roast on Comedy Central in March, which the talk show host questioned.
"I think it's cool to be able to laugh at yourself. I just want to own up to some of the things [I've done]," the Boyfriend singer elucidated.
Bieber's bad behavior in the past ranged from silly childish pranks to downright criminal offenses. He was apprehended for dangerous driving and punching the members of the paparazzi. He also earned the ire of animal rights activists when he irresponsibly abandoned a monkey in his visit in Germany.
Bieber also offended some politically-sensitive citizens when he reportedly urinated into a mop bucket while screaming "f*ck Bill Clinton!"
He was also dragged into a lengthy and highly publicized investigation when one of his neighbors complained that the pop star, along with some of his friends, egged his home. This debacle even ignited an inspection of drug-related paraphernalia found in Bieber's home.
The most widely covered spectacle in the singer's long list of misdeeds was his fist fight with "The Lord of The Rings" star, Orlando Bloom, allegedly over the latter's ex-wife, Miranda Kerr.
