A special prayer gathering will be held by the Korean pastors of Atlanta for Shin-ae Kim, the husband of Pastor Sung-In Paek and currently struggling against a lethal disease. The gathering will be happening on April 27th with the location yet to be decided. An association of Korean pastors in Atlanta is also hosting a campaign to help Mrs. Shin-ae Kim.
A great deal of attention and interest is being expressed towards Mrs. Kim through both prayer and donation of funds for her treatment. Donations have been made by several key Korean figures in Atlanta including the head of the Korean association and the immigrant family center.
Although Pastor Paek expressed that he and his wife are greatly encouraged by the concerns and help provided by the community, the family is still going through a great deal of difficulty. Last week, his wife had to have both her arms amputated, and very soon, she is scheduled go through further amputation surgeries to have several fingers removed. Pastor Paek expressed how his family is in desperate need of intercessory prayer.
There is certainly very few ways to actually help Mrs. Shin with her illness and the spiritual battles her family is going through. However, through their hardships, the heart for intercessory prayer in Atlanta has been rekindled. Hope is expressed that the Christians of Atlanta will be brought together as one unified body.
