James Hellmold, a candidate for Los Angeles County Sheriff who has served for the LASD (Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department) for the past 25 years held a press conference at the Garden Sweet Hotel. He talked about the necessity of changes in the current police system to further support security, and that if he is elected Sheriff, he will try his best to make necessary changes to the system and expand communication with the local community.
Many important figures in the Korean American community were present at this press conference including the head of the Council of Korean Churches in Southern California, Pastor Hyo-Oo Park. The pastor expressed his view that Hellmold is a man of great leadership and that in order for him to achieve his goal, it will be good to continue to campaign his support from the Korean community.
The election for L.A. County sheriff will take place on June 3rd and a total of seven candidates will be considered.
