The American Center for Law and Justice reported on the situation of Pastor Saeed Abedini, an American citizen who is currently held in captivity in Iran. Pastor Saeed was said to have been shackled at an Iranian hospital this Wednesday, where he was denied a necessary surgery.
The law group, which represents Pastor Saeed’s wife and children in the U.S. reported that, "This morning Iranian guards lashed out violently against Pastor Saeed and an elderly relative who had been able to visit him in the hospital. Pastor Saeed was pinned down and shackled. His elderly relative was roughly handled and expelled from the hospital,"
Pastor Abedini was removed from Rajai Shahr Prison to a local hospital where he received health check-ups and nourishment. He was in need of a surgery because of chronic pains in his stomach from continuous prison beatings. However, the hospital denied the pastor of any kind of treatment.
The pastor was arrested in July 2012 while working on an orphanage project. He was charged for endangering national security and was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment. Ever since he was apprehended, Naghmeh, the captive pastor’s wife has been campaigning for her husband’s release.
