Kwi-Soon Oh, the principal of Siloam Korean School, shared that the hope of the school is to raise up their students to become like Daniel in this generation.

“When I was first contacted to start this Korean school, I felt really burdened,” said Kwi-Soon Oh, the principal of Siloam Korean School. “But as I was praying one morning on how I can best lead and prepare for this program, I received an answer at early dawn prayer, through a sermon that Pastor Yoon-Kil Shin preached. Siloam Korean School now hopes to raise up students with Daniel as a role model, that they would keep the teachings their parents have given them from a young age, and that for their lifetime, they would pray for the nation, make friends that fear God, and become leaders who are acknowledged and respected for their skills and expertise.”

“I’m thankful for those who volunteered and served, and for those who sent their children to our school during this first semester,” shared Pastor Yoon-Kil Shin. “Our children are living in the United States, but being able to learn Korean will be a great asset for them. My two daughters also went to Korean school for about two to three hours per week when they were younger, and now they thank me for those classes because they’re able to communicate with me easily. So even though your children may be having a difficult time right now, eventually they will know the value of these classes.”

A booklet that included the testimonies and stories of the parents, students, and teachers during the past semester were also given during the event. The improvement in the students’ Korean skills were also displayed through the booklet.

Siloam Korean School will be starting its second semester on January 5, and it will run until May 9. For more information, contact the school at siloamchurch@gmail.com.
