E Fun made an official announcement this week that its latest Nextbook 8 Windows tablet will be available in Walmart stores on Black Friday with the price tag of $99.
However, stores will begin selling the tablet a day before November 28, particularly at 8 p.m. on Thursday. Speculations have then claimed that, although the Nextbook 8 will be made available until "supplies last", it is likely that the device will run out of stock by the time Black Friday rolls in.
The Nextbook 8 is the first attempt for a Windows tablet to be made available with a price of less than $100.
Users can look forward to a number of decent specs and features, such as an Intel Atom Z3735G processor and 1GB of RAM. The device also comes with 16GB of built-in storage and supports Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. Several ports for USB and HDMI, and an audio jack can be found on top of the tablet.
Moreover, front and rear cameras have been incorporated into the Nextbook 8 along with an 8-inch screen that comes with a 1280 x 800 resolution. The tablet will run the Windows 8.1.
Additionally, those who purchase the Nextbook 8 can look forward to a OneDrive cloud storage of 1TB, thanks to a Microsoft Office 365 Personal subscription for an entire year.
Overall, reviews for the Nextbook 8 have centered on its design and performance, which have been deemed as decent and satisfactory, despite a low price. On the other hand, disadvantages may be associated with its low-quality cameras and screen display.
The upcoming Nextbook 8 will be known as the second Windows tablet from E Fun, predecessor to the Nextbook 10.1 which will be launched this November as well.
The latter sells for $179 in Walmart stores with which users can expect a 10.1-inch screen and a detachable keyboard. It has already been made available for pre-orders last October 23.
