While Samsung's next flagship device is expected to be made available next spring, there have been numerous speculations about its forthcoming offering, the Galaxy S6. With the codename "Project Zero", rumors about the Galaxy S6 have pointed towards its possible design, specs, features and performance.
The device is expected to be unveiled at the World Mobile Congress conference in Barcelona in the first quarter of 2015.
In terms of its specifications, the Galaxy S6 will reportedly come with a dual-edged display. Drawing out the concept of curves around the phone from the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, the upcoming device may sport a curved screen for both its sides.
This has been deemed suitable if Samsung seeks to increase the Galaxy S6's display size without having to expand the size of the handset itself. As such, the Galaxy S6 may come with 5.2-inch Quad HD display that has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.
The new device may take on the premium metal design found on the Galaxy Alpha and incorporate glass as well.
Overall, the Galaxy S6 is expected to sport a non-removable rear panel and be made available in four color options including black, white, silver and gold. It will be powered by the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa-core processor and may have compatibility with Samsung's own Gear virtual reality headset.
The new device will come with 4GB of Ram, a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 3.7-megapixel front camera. It will also be capable of 4K video recording and using optical image stabilization.
The Galaxy S6 is also expected to bring improvements when it comes to overall performance as it runs the newest Android 5.0 Lollipop and may come with a 3300 mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the device will support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth.
