Microsoft is scheduled to kick-off the largest Xbox Store sale on December 22.

As noted by the company, the discount program will last for 17 days and will end on January 7.

An Xbox Store sale may not come as a surprise for some gamers given the fact that Microsoft has been busy all year slashing the prices of its games, giving away free titles, and release Xbox console bundles. But, for this month's discount deal, the company said it will be the biggest one yet, Cinemablend reported.

In fact, instead of just launching a press release, the company posted a video to tease the contents of the sale. As noted in the 40-second clip, gamers can expect to receive 40 to 60 percent off on selected games in the Xbox Store during the duration of the promo. Microsoft also noted that Xbox Live Gold members will receive even bigger discounts.

The company did not list down all of the games that will be featured in the special event but said that over 200 titles will be included in the promo. Based on the video, it seems Microsoft will also release batches of games per week with their own special discounts.

As for the games that gamers can expect to buy in Xbox Store, the video hinted that these will include the latest AAA-games for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles. Some of the titles that were shown off in the video include "Rise of the Tomb Raider," "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate," "Halo 5," "Fallout 4," "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3," "The Witcher III," "Destiny," "Forza" and the two "Metal Gear Solid V" games.

Aside from games, a post on the Major Nelson website noted that other media content will be included in the massive sale as well. Some of these are "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation," five seasons of "Archer," "Mad Max: Fury Road" and "Kingsman: The Secret Service."

Aside from this week's massive Xbox Store sale, Microsoft is also currently hosting the extension of its Black Friday bundle deals. The promo, which will end on Dec. 26, slashes the prices of various Xbox One console bundles by $50. As noted by Digital Trends, the cheapest package is priced at $300 while others cost around $350 and $450.

With these deals, gamers will surely have a lot of options to choose from for their Christmas gifts for their loved ones and for their selves.
