"God, who desires intimate fellowship with His holy people! God who sees his people in spiritual lewdness with remorse and anger, like a husband who sees his wife commit adultery!
Ohola and Oholibah have committed adultery with their idols, sacrificed their children, defiled God’s sanctuary and desecrated His Sabbath. In seeing the consequences of these sins, I have realized that the sins don’t just hurt themselves but result in the loss of their children, home, and all other things (Ezekiel 23:36-49). For I realize that love for God cannot stand together with love of the world, I confess that I lack depth in my spiritual walk and confess my detestable spirituality.
Would you lead me to become your holy beloved who loves the Lord and wholeheartedly obeys the word, not merely a Christian by name who befriends the world for momentary greed and satisfaction? Help me to live as a true disciple who follows after the Lord for eternal joy and hope. I pray that I may not be robbed of the honor, purity, and glory, as a holy bride that is in you. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen."
