The Seattle Seahawks have been plagued with issues throughout the NFL season. Starting off with the early holdout of safety Kam Chancellor, the Seattle Seahawks have been trying to keep their heads up despite the challenges. Following the return of Kam Chancellor to the NFL team, the Seattle Seahawks lost Marshawn Lynch to injury. Subsequent injuries followed as well as suspensions among the football stars in its roster. With these issues in mind, it came as no surprise when the Seattle Seahawks placed at the bottom ranks in the Western Conference alongside the San Francisco 49ers.
Despite the issues, it looks like good news came to the Seattle Seahawks locker room. Fred Jackson, who was earlier accused to have been drag racing with NFL teammate Marshawn Lynch which allegedly caused his car to crash against a pole, had been found not guilty of the allegations. The investigators noted that the running back had not been drag racing with Marshawn Lynch or anyone else at that time, pointing out that the car went out of control due to the speed he was running it. Hence, the rumored suspension of Fred Jackson, which would have seen Russell Wilson and Kam Chancellor minus another member of the Seattle Seahawks, will no longer be a possibility. Needless to say, Fred Jackson will be present in the Week 7 match of the Seattle Seahawks against the San Francisco 49ers.
"Early news releases indicated that Jackson was racing another team member and was removed from the scene by team security before officers could investigate," disclosed Renton police officals in a statement regarding the accident, according to Seattle Times. The statement further noted, "These reports are false. As of this time, there is no indication that Jackson was racing another vehicle."
For the NFL team's part, Seattle Seahawks Pete Carroll said via Seattle PI that the matter involving Fred Jackson had been discussed with Russell Wilson, Kam Chancellor, Marshawn Lynch and the rest of the football team. Carroll stated, "We talked about it today with the whole group." He added, "How that happened within a short time I don't know. Fred talked to the team as well, just to give everybody the heads up so we make sure that we're doing the right thing.
"I just wanted to make sure that he told what happened so that they all knew for the heads up for everybody else, just to keep your eye on the road and do things right and drive carefully and protect the people around you and ourselves," the Seattle Seahawks head coach revealed. He went on to say, "So, it was just a good opportunity for us to make the point, having the thought that something happened a little bit ago, too, with Derrick. So just wanted to make it really clear to everyone. Fred did a nice job of addressing it and owned up to it and all that."
