Fans and followers of the One Direction were devastated to learn that one of the British singing group's members, Liam Payne, has fallen ill prior to a concert in Belfast, Northern Ireland earlier this week. With hundreds of spectators eager to see Harry Style, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne live onstage, the One Direction publicists had to make the heartbreaking announcement that the four crooners could no longer perform. At the moment, it remains unknown when all four members of the One Direction will be able to serenade their followers.

"Unfortunately, One Direction have had to cancel tonight's concert in Belfast," announced Simon Jones, the publicist of the popular English boy band, via social media. The statement further read, "Liam has been taken suddenly ill, and the concert will sadly not be taking place. Fans have been asked to hold on to their tickets and there will be a further statement tomorrow. The band apologise to their fans and wish Liam well as soon as possible." In a report by BBC, it was disclosed that some ladies who attended the concert in the hopes of seeing the One Direction boys live had been spotted crying following the devastating announcement. Fans were the instructed to hold on to their concert tickets. Further instructions regarding the concert could be expected within the week.

Harry Styles took to Twitter to extend his deepest apologies to the fans and followers of One Direction. He wrote, "Deepest apologies to everyone at the show tonight in Belfast." The former romantic flame of Taylor Swift added, "Very disappointed, but unfortunately these things happen. We're very sorry." Apart from Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson also used social media to reach out to those who attended the canceled concert. The soon to be dad shared, "We're so so sorry for what happened tonight, it was out of our control." Louis Tomlinson further posted, "Lots of love to Liam and thank you for being so understanding!"

Meanwhile, speculations are rife regarding the condition of another One Direction member: Niall Horan. Perez Hilton reports that the blonde crooner backed out from a radio interview on Tuesday due to feeling "unwell." Frank Mitchell, a UTV and U105 presenter, shared the news via social media. He wrote, "How much illness in @onedirection? Liam sick. Earlier this evening Niall dropped out of @U105radio interview due to being 'unwell'?"
