It looks like all hope is not yet loss for former romantic partners Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. In a surprise release over the weekend, fans and followers of Jelena were treated to a new collaboration of the ex-lovers. Reports claim that a duet of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, titled "Strong," was leaked via Drake's OVO Sound Radio. The public managed to only temporarily enjoy the piece though, as it was almost immediately taken down following its release. It remains to be seen whether or not the new track will be included in Justin Bieber's upcoming album, titled "Purpose, which is scheduled to drop this November.

According to sources, the collaboration of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez to produce "Stronger" had taken months in the making. However, the former couple believed that creating music together as well as finally addressing the issues in their romance through their craft would be a healing process for the both of them. "They are still very tight and [Justin Bieber] felt that it would be very therapeutic if they worked together," a source revealed via Hollywood Life. The insider added, "Their past could lead into some amazing future business decisions because they both know how each other tick."

Although Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez did not spend too much face time recording "Stronger," the source revealed that the two artists had been hands on in the creation of the single. The insider shared, "[Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber] didn't record this together; they laid their tracks separately but were both very involved with the song's creation and writing. They weren't the main writers, but they will be credited as writers among others. This has been planned for months and they have been working on it at the same time they were working on their own albums."

It could be recalled that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had been an on and off couple in their teens. Throughout the tumultuous relationship, the former Disney star had been repeatedly urged to leave the Canadian crooner. "We were so in love. Nothing else mattered," Justin Bieber shared in an interview with Complex Magazine, referring to his relationship with Selena Gomez. The "What Do U Mean" singer added, "We were all about each other. But when it's like that and you get your value from that, people will always disappoint you. Your girl or your dude, they're always going to disappoint you. Your full identity can't be in that person. My identity was in her. Her identity was in me."
