"God, who graciously pours down his blessings, on this blessed new day! I give praise for the grace you’ve shown me, in covering areas of sin with your grace, purifying filthy places, and saving sinners who have been disregarded.
I give thanks for helping me remember your compassion through today’s passage (Ezekiel 16:15-34) in which it shows how your heart broke for the Israelites who made and worshipped idols made of materials you provided, becoming steeped in spiritual adultery. Would you help me to live life discerning your heart and love toward me? I earnestly desire to live in purity instead of chasing after the world’s culture and pleasure just as I please.
I pray that today, I may be filled with the Word and Spirit so that I may honor the Lord only through all the things that come from you. Especially in times of peace, would you give me the blessing to live as a faithful servant, being spiritually awake, letting go of physical desires, boasting of this world, and an eye for lust. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen."
