After "Harry Potter" alum and UN ambassadress for gender equality Emma Watson was spotted with "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" Roberto Aguire, people immediately jumped to the conclusion that the two are dating.

The two were seen enjoying lunch together in Los Feliz, California on Sunday. Turns out, according to the Inquisitr, Watson and Aguire have known each other for over a decade, since they were both involved in the fourth "Harry Potter" film installment - "The Goblet of Fire."

Aguire might not have co-starred with Watson in that "Harry Potter" movie, but he has managed to do just fine with other film projects such as "Sand Sharks," "Struck by Lightning," and "Boulevard."

In fact, when "Boulevard" premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, Aguire took Watson as his date, and he is very grateful for her support.

"I am so grateful to her for coming to Tribeca. She'd seen the movie beforehand and really loved it, but she said she wanted to come to the premiere regardless to support the movie and to make sure I didn't trip over my own two feet on my first red carpet! There was a high probability coming into it that I would," he jokingly said.

However, the actor maintained that they were just friends. This was what he has been saying since 2012. When he was interviewed by Just Jared, the actor shared how and why Watson became an important figure in his life.

"I was doing an internship in the special effects department at the time," he explained. "And one day we had a chance encounter that led to us spending half a day together exchanging stories and dance moves. We never really lost touch after that and now she's one of my best friends."

Watson broke up with her boyfriend Matt Janney just last December after a year of dating. Last August, Watson opened up about the split, saying that she went on a silent retreat in order to get over the break-up.

"I felt really uncomfortable. Even before my relationship ended, I went on a silent retreat, because I really wanted to figure out how to be at home with myself," she told Vogue U.K.

Since then, Watson has even been linked to Prince Harry, but the actress quickly dismissed the rumor, telling fans not to believe everything they hear or see on the internet.
