As the Duggar family is set to return to TV, fans will not only get to see Jill Duggar-Dillard and Jessa Duggar-Seewald’s nuclear families on these new TLC specials. Interestingly, parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar recently shared photos proving that they also be returning to TV.
The Duggar folks recently posted several images on the Duggar Family Official Facebook page, showing a group of people gathered for Jill and Derick’s going-away celebrations.
The couple is returning to their mission work in Central America after a month-long visit to their families back in the US, and the TLC camera crew members had been around to film their family members, close friends and even “financial support partners” who were saying goodbye to them.
“Thank you to all our prayer and financial support partners who were able to join us last night for an evening of ministry discussion and fellowship!” the family posted on the Duggar Family Official Facebook page. “Thank you also to our financial partners who were not able to attend last night! We can’t do it without you!”
Such “financial support partners” mentioned in the family’s post on Facebook are reportedly some of Jill and Derick’s mission trip donors. The couple had come up with the Dillard Family Ministries earlier this year and has been requesting for fans and other willing individuals to offer donations to fund their mission trip in Central America.
"We are looking forward to reconnecting with everyone with the new specials on TLC—many have asked about our mission work and about the challenges of taking our family to a different country, culture and learning a new language," Derick shared on Instagram, referring to their latest projects. "We appreciate your prayers."
Meanwhile, TLC’s executive vice president and general manager Nancy Daniels opened up to the Associated Press about the focal point of such programs.
“What we will be following in these specials is Jessa preparing for her first child," she said in an official statement. "And we'll be watching Jill preparing to make a major move to Central America with her family, which we know is something our audience will be interested in."
TLC cancelled the family’s hit reality series ‘19 Kids and Counting’ after news of Jim Bob and Michelle’s eldest son Josh’s molestation scandal broke.
Three months after the controversy, the 28-year-old former reality star confessed about his addiction to pornography and his unfaithfulness to his wife, including having more than one subscription to adultery website Ashley Madison.
The father-of-four then issued a public apology and checked into a Christian rehab center in Rockford, Illinois.
