"God, who has granted this holy and blessed new day of grace! I give thanks for your endless warnings of judgement so that you may restore relationships with the people, so full of sin and hypocrisy.
God, who pointed out that the Israelites did not have God, but had set up idols in their hearts. I realize that a faith that only seeks blessings is idol worship, and is basically spiritual adultery (Ezekiel 14:1-11). Today, would you help me to resolutely rid myself of such sin as greed, lack of self-control, secret addictions, and slandering words. In so doing, would you help renew me from within.
I desire to live a daily life in which I leave sin behind with thorough repentance. Today, for I desire to dress up as a bride, would you help me, my family and church community to discern your words and live a holy and truthful spiritual life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen."
