Within only a couple of days after "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" came out, publisher Activision and developer Robomodo are already being criticized by gamers due to the bugs and glitches affecting the latest title's gameplay.

In response, Activision recently released a statement to address these issues.

The latest installment in the "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" series officially came out for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles on September 29 in North America. It then debuted in other regions today.

However, on the same day as the game's release, Activision also rolled out a patch for the game. Surprisingly, the 7.7GB patch is even bigger than the game, which only takes up 4.6GB of space.

Accompanying a newly launched game with a day-one patch is not a good sign for developers. Although it says something about Activision's quick approach to fix the game's issues, it also gives off the idea that the developers rushed the release of the game and didn't out all of its bugs and glitches.

But, even with the massive patch, it still wasn't enough to save the game. Eurogamer recently posted a gameplay video of the game using a PlayStation 4 console. However, even with the updated patch, the game still suffers from constant glitching.

Based on the clip, and complaints from other gamers, most of the game's issues are related to its physics. Due to the glitches, gamers often crash through walls, halfpipes and the ground. The virtual skater's body also contorts in unrealistic ways, which actually makes the character look like a rag doll being tossed around.

Aside from these, the game also suffers from crashing problems as well as loading issues that prevent some gamers from getting past the Activision logo, The Verge reported.

Due to the negative reception that "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" has received immediately after its release, Activision issued a statement explaining that it is currently working with developer Robomodo to fix the game's glitches.

"We are aware of the issues that players have experienced following the launch of 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5' and are working with the developer to address these so that we can continue to improve the gameplay experience for all of the 'Tony Hawk' fans who have known and loved this franchise for more than 16 years," a representative from Activision said in a statement to IGN.
