Starting off with the surfacing of the police records, which showed that Josh Duggar inappropriately touched five underage girls, the 19 Kids and Counting clan had nowhere else to go but down. The police report forced TLC to temporarily suspend the reality series - a move that eventually led to the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting as the public rallied against the network to do so.
Months following the incident, Josh Duggar once again found himself at center stage as he was identified as one of the clients in the website Ashley Madison. This prompted Josh Duggar himself, with the support of parents Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar, to confess to his indiscretions - that is, the 19 Kids and Counting star admitted to engaging in extramarital affairs during his marriage with Anna Duggar, who was carrying their fourth child at that time. This revelation once again ignited the fire burning in the public, forcing the Duggar clan to reflect on their beliefs. For his part, Josh Duggar opted to stay mum following the release of his statement. He later on checked himself in a Christian treatment facility, according to his parents. As for some of his sisters, Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seewald, the two chose to not comment on the issue.
Weeks since the Ashley Madison scandal broke, sources are claiming that the family of Anna Duggar are attempting to stage an intervention to help her break off her ties from Josh Duggar. "Daniel is leading the charge to get Anna out of her dysfunctional marriage and away from her cheating husband," revealed an insider in a report by Hollywood Life. The source went on to say, "He has rallied a couple of their sisters and brothers to take this opportunity to talk some sense into Anna. They know when she's at home surrounded by the Duggars and their friends, Anna will never listen to them. But Daniel and the others are hoping that getting her away from the Duggar clan will help. They want to stage a family meeting or divorce intervention and really tell Anna how they feel."
It could be recalled that Anna Duggar's brother, named Daniel, spoke openly about his disdain for Josh Duggar's actions. In a Facebook post of Jessa Duggar Seewald, Daniel commented to berate the Duggar family's failure to help his sister and slammed Josh Duggar for his behavior. His response to the post of the 19 Kids and Counting star garnered both criticisms and applause from the public.
