God, you allowed Ezekiel to see that your temple, which should be full of holiness and glory, instead became a detestable place of idol worship (Ezekiel 8:1-18). Would you help me to live a life that first looks and reflects on my own heart. I want to be able to discern and root out the sin and idols that are hidden in my life and church community. May I not idolize or chase after anything else but you, Lord.
Would you captivate me, so that I can wholly trust you with a fullness of the Holy Spirit, that I may be able to rid myself of any and all idols in my life. And would you lead me so that I may always live along with my family and church community, in the midst of your glory. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen."
