Whle HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ smashed records and gained multiple awards at the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards, actress and Emmy nominee Emilia Clarke had been absent at the special event.

The 28-year-old star was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series along with ‘Game of Thrones; co-star Lena Headey, Christine Baranski (‘The Good Wife’), Joanne Froggatt (‘Downton Abbey’), Christina Hendricks (‘Mad Men’) and winner Uzo Aduba (‘Orange Is the New Black’).

Clarke, who also bagged a nomination in the same category in 2013, gave a clear explanation of her absence as she took to Instagram and shared a photo of herself on Sunday.

"I think I might be late for the Emmys... How far is it from Spain?" she wrote in the caption, adding the hashtags: "#rollingwithoutmyhomies #workin'mother #wheresdrogonwhenyouneedhim #bringitonhomegot!"

The British actress is presently filming for the HBO series' upcoming sixth season.

The ‘Terminator: Genisys’ star was at the doctor's office in July when she received a call, telling her that she had just bagged an individual nomination among the show’s 24 Emmy nominations.

“I had to try and contain my excitement for that moment. But it was pretty brilliant nonetheless,” the actress described the moment during an interview with The Los Angeles Times.

Clarke also had positive words for the cast members and the production team, saying, "It's amazing and so deserved."

‘Game of Thrones’ was honored with 12 Primetime Emmy Awards, including the most coveted Outstanding Drama Series award.

Peter Dinklage also won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, the second time since he accepted the same award in 2011 for his performance as Tyrion Lannister on the hit fantasy drama.

“He's so funny and charming and gorgeous and talented,” Clarke said of her co-star. “Every now and again, you meet actors who just literally make days brighter, and Peter is exactly that person."

Clarke previously opened up about what fans can anticipate in ‘Game of Thrones’ season six. As revealed at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the cast members have already gone through their scripts for the upcoming installment, and Clarke, playing the Mother of Dragons, had been greatly pleased.

“It’s just go, go, go, go,” the 28-year-old actress said in an interview with LA Times as she admired what is yet to be shown in the series. “Shocking moment to shocking moment. Epic moment to epic moment. It’s mental; it’s epic. And definitely Dany’s a part of it.”

HBO's 'Game of Thrones' season six is set to premiere in fall of 2016.
