When ‘Supernatural’ returns to the small screen for season 11, another out-of-this-world being will be introduced that will surely give fans a surprise.
As The Darkness, a new monster that surrounded Sam and Dean, was introduced at the end of season 10, the Almighty God is also expected to appear in the new episodes. Even Chuck (Rob Benedict) is rumored to play Him in ‘Supernatural’ season 11.
For other details in the upcoming installment, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki recently answered fan’s questions as to what is coming up in the next highly-anticipated installment.
When asked about their relationship in the next episodes, Ackles shared that their characters will be unified once more as they battle it out against the same target during a major apocalyptic event.
Padalecki also gave fans something to look forward to as he opened up about the strength of the brothers’ bond.
“I think a lot of the fandom is going to be happy to learn that we’re finally accepting the fact that we’re stronger together than apart,” the actor explained.
Comparing the new season to any past installments, Ackles described season 11 as a “bit of a throwback to maybe season one or season two,” when the siblings had fewer fights and were united to fight for humanity as a duo.
The new episodes were also compared by Padalecki to season four when the brothers were battling it out with bigger things.
As for Dean’s experience of bearing the Mark, one fan on Twitter asked whether the character will be associated with the Darkness.
“There is that kind of connection that only he can have and he can understand, so that is going to be something that he’s going to find himself faced with and struggle with,” Ackles explained.
When it comes to Sam’s visions, Padalecki shared that both brothers find it difficult to distinguish what is real and what is not. For his character, the 33-year-old actor clarified that his instinct is often to “back away” as he struggles with understanding such revelations.
When asked whether fans can still look forward to fun episodes with a lighter tone, Ackles enthusiastically responded, saying: “Oh yeah, after all it is a show that really made its mark at how we balanced the dark episodes with the light episodes and everything in between.”
‘Supernatural’ season 11 makes its premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
