Apple officially unveiled on Wednesday its latest lineup of devices and services.
Some of those launched by the company include the iPhone 6S, Apple TV and the massive iPad Pro.
The Cupertino-based tech giant's latest flagship handsets, the iPhone 6S and its larger counterpart, the iPhone 6S Plus feature 4.7 and 5.5-inch displays respectively. As expected, both models sport Force Touch technology which has the ability to identify three different levels of pressure applied by fingers on the touch screen, BGR reported.
Apple also bumped up the primary camera of the two models to 12 megapixels. Aside from upgrading the optics, the camera is also capable of recording 4K video. As for the 5-megapixel front camera, it features full HD video support and can be used to take selfie panoramas. The handsets are powered by the new Apple A9 processor and pack 2GB of RAM and come in 16, 64 and 128GB internal storage variants. Running on the iOS 9 platform, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus come with various new interface enhancements including the "Hey Siri" command feature.
Apple's latest smartphones are set to be released on September 18. The contract prices for the handsets will start at $199 for the iPhone 6S and $299 for the iPhone 6S Plus.
Aside from the new smartphones, Apple also introduced the 4th generation Apple TV. Compared to its predecessor, the new Apple TV features a larger RAM capacity at 2GB. Also, from the 2012 editions 8GB of internal storage, Apple upgraded the new Apple TV's native memory to 32 and 64GB.
It also comes with a longer list of available content such as ESPN, Disney Channel, Fox, CNN, ABC News, NBA, NHL, MLB, Netflix, HBO Now, Hulu, Showtime, iTunes, AirPlay and iCloud.
Also, once it comes out in October, the new Apple TV will feature support for various games including "Guitar Hero Live," "Disney Infinity 3.0," "Rayman Adventures," and "Manticore Rising," according to Engadget. The 32GB variant of the Apple TV will cost $149 while its 64GB version can be purchased for $199.
Another major device launched by Apple during the event held in San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium is the new iPad Pro. Featuring a display size of 12.9 inches, it sports a screen resolution of 2732x2048 pixels. It runs on the A9X processor which offers twice the memory bandwidth of its predecessor the A8X, The Straits Times has learned.
As an added accessory, Apple also unveiled the Apple Pencil stylus pen and the Apple Smart Keyboard for the iPad Pro.
The company's latest and biggest tablet is expected to hit stores in November. It will be available in 32, 64 and 128GB storage variants. The basic model of the iPad Pro will cost $799. The Apple Pencil and Apple Smart Keyboard can be purchased separately for $99 and $169, respectively.
