There is no denying that the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" film was a worldwide success, so a lot of things are hanging in the balance now that director James Gunn is working on its sequel, which they have decided to call "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

A lot of people are excited to see the next movie, which has been scheduled for release on May 5, 2017. It is still a long wait, so in order to help fans get by, Gunn decided to share some details of the upcoming film to fans during a Twitter Q&A session, which Screen Rant has compiled.

The first question is surrounding the new characters, and when asked how many fans can expect for the next film, the filmmaker answered: "Not too many, that's for sure! I want all of our characters to get MORE personal time than they did in the 1st film."

A lot of people are insisting that Captain Marvel, also known as Carol Danvers be included in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" sequel, but Gunn has always dismissed the rumor. This time, he explained why the female superhero will not be included in the sequel: "For the time being, it's important to me that Quill is the sole human (earthling) character."

Another character fans have been hoping to see in the sequel is Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. After he took off in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," people are hoping that Marvel will be adapting the Planet Hulk and World War Hulk stories from the comic books, and they believe "Guardians of the Galaxy" would be the perfect platform to introduce the next chapter of his story. But once again, Gunn dismissed the idea.

"I will comment on it now (as I've done before) - there is zero chance you will see Hulk in GotGVol2," he said.

When asked if there would be more female characters in the next film, Gunn maintained an air of mystery as he said, "As I've said many times it's one of my goals to get a higher % of female heroes (and villains) out there. So MAYBE."

Gamora (played by Zoe Saldana) was the female lead in the first film, and she is set to return for the sequel. Even her half sister Nebula (played by Karen Gillan) will be seen in the next film, and the two will probably try and deal with their familial issues.
