Apple is all set to unveil a new batch of devices during a scheduled event happening later this week.

According to various sources, the upcoming event will serve as the main stage for the official introduction of the new iPad Pro.

As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple's next-generation tablet will sport a massive screen at 12.9 inches, making it the biggest iPad model the company has ever released. And, based on the report, it seems Apple has utilized this big screen feature to work hand-in-hand with the iOS 9 split-screen mode.

This mode will allow tablet users to run two apps at the same. In the iPad Pro, however, the mode will not appear to work in the same fashion as smaller models such as the iPad Mini 4 and iPad Air 2 which reduces the portrait size of the apps. Instead, the new tablet model will run the full-size portraits of the two different apps while in landscape mode.

As for its other features, Apple's massive slate device will come in 64GB and 128GB storage variants. It will be powered by the upgraded A9X chipset, which is expected to provide far superior processing capabilities than the A8X found in the iPad Air 2, according to Phone Dog.

Out of the box, the iPad Pro will feature the iOS 9.1 as its stock operating system. For its added accessories, Apple is also reportedly working on a Bluetooth-based keyboard designed specifically for the iPad Pro.

The new tablet model will also feature Force Touch support. First introduced by Apple through the Apple Watch, Force Touch lets devices respond to various control options based on the pressure levels applied by fingers on their touch screens.

According to various sources, users will be able to begin pre-ordering the iPad Pro sometime in October. They can expect to receive the tablet once it ships out in late November.

Currently, there are no details yet regarding the pricing of the iPad Pro. However, given its features that were not included in previous models, such as the massive display and new type of split-screen mode, the 64GB and 128GB iPad Pro tablets will likely be marketed as high-end and expensive devices.

The new tablet model is expected to debut on September 9 along with the Apple TV and the company's latest flagship device, the iPhone 6S and its Plus counterpart. The event will be held at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, Independent has learned.
