Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill flew to Dubai by jet after the drama of the MTV VMAs. Her feud with Miley Cyrus is far from over, as Drake, Taylor Swift, and Azealia Banks weighed in their two cents on the televised drama. What first began with an article by the New York Times, ended up being a public fight on live TV.
Minaj and Mill arrived in Dubai on Tuesday, Sept. 1. Minaj hit the Dubai mall, where she was greeted by swarming fans. She stopped by the Moschino store and donned a Moschino dress and cap. She also enjoyed her vacation by going on a night boat ride.
"Nicki Minaj joined Meek Mill on a trip to Dubai late Tuesday night where he performed at Dubai's People by Crystal nightclub," stated Minaj's official Facebook page.
While Minaj and Mill are traveling overseas, the drama from Sunday’s VMAs continues to spread to other celebrities. Drake, Swift, and Banks each had their opinions on the Minaj and Cyrus feud. Drake, surprisingly favors Cyrus. Swift sides with Minaj and Banks thinks that the whole thing is “BASIC BASIC BASIC.”
“No shade to Nicki, he still rides hard for her, but he’s team Miley in this feud! Drake can relate to Miley — he’s been the underdog his entire life, just like Miley is in this feud,” said a source to Hollywood Life.
According to a source who spoke to Hollywood Life, Swift supports “Nicki 100 percent.” Swift believes that Minaj was misunderstood and that the drama was “blown out of proportion.”
Banks called out Swift, Minaj, and Cyrus on Twitter by saying that all three artists are “whack” and “make boring music.” Banks commented that the feud was “funny” and added that “it has to be a joke.”
“IT’S A CONTEST OF THE BASICS,” tweeted Banks on Wednesday.
The feud began when Cyrus, the host of the 2015 VMAs had a Q&A session with the New York Times. She commented on Minaj’s tweets regarding not being nominated for the category of Best Female Video. “If I was a different "kind" of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well,” tweeted Minaj on July 21.
“If you want to make it about race, there's a way you could do that. But don't make it just about yourself,” said 22-year-old Cyrus to the New York Times. “Say: 'This is the reason why I think it's important to be nominated. There's girls everywhere with this body type.'"
Minaj won a Moonman award for Best Hip-Hop Video and upon taking the stage at the VMAs thanked her pastor and fans. She proceeded to take a hit at Cyrus by commenting that Cyrus “had a lot to say” about her “the other day in the press. Miley, what’s good?” said Minaj, along with uses of profanity.
“We all do interviews. We all know how they manipulate,” said Cyrus. She congratulated Minaj for her award, while using profanity.
