Zombies were terrifying creatures to contend with during the first season of "iZombie," especially with Blaine DeBeers (David Anders) going on a killing spree just to collect brains for his zombie clients. But now that his business has been destroyed and his lackeys killed, plus the fact that he has been turned back into a human, it will be a whole different ball game when "iZombie" season 2 returns.

The show's co-creator Rob Thomas told Comic Book that zombies have to shake in their boots now that they are being hunted down by the Max Rager company. And Liv Moore (played by Rose McIver) would be forced to form an alliance with her former nemesis.

"We kind of say what the big storyline of Season Two will be in the finale of Season One," Thomas said. "There's a moment with Vaughn Du Clark, the head of Max Rager, says to his right-hand scientist, 'You worry about creating Super Max, I'm going to eliminate all of the Seattle zombies.' If zombies were the aggressors in season one, they're put a little bit more on the defensive side and it will make very strange bedfellows of Liv and Blaine in season two."

Liv almost attempted to kill Blaine in season one, but in the end, all that resulted was Blaine killing her musician boyfriend Lowell Tracey. It broke Liv's heart, and she has never really forgiven Blaine for that incident. Instead, she wanted to seek revenge, but after seeing Blaine kill Major, her former fiancé, Liv decided to sacrifice the cure made by her boss Ravi and give it to Blaine, then turned Major into a zombie just so he can live.

All Liv and Blaine could do was shoot arrows of contempt with their eyes during season one, so fans would really be surprised to see how those two interact in the next season.

"Getting those two in scenes together, which was tough in season one, will be much easier in season two," assured Thomas.

Plus, Liv will be taking on even more memory fragments from the brains she consumes next season, and it would be fun to see who the former medical resident will deal with new personality traits and mental qualities while she works on new cases with Detective Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin).

"iZombie" will return on the small screen on October 6, 2015, Tuesday at the CW network.
