Jake Roche, the lead vocalist of British rock band Rixton slammed former One Direction member Zayn Malik for breaking up with his fiance over text message. Roche told The Sun that although Malik is “talented,” his utter disrespect towards Little Mix member Perrie Edwards is inexcusable.
“The way he’s treated her is horrible. He’s not a very nice man. Professionally he’s talented but — and I’m speaking from what I’ve seen — he should be ashamed,” said 22-year-old Roche to The Sun at Fusion Festival in Birmingham.
Roche is currently engaged to Edwards’ bandmate Jesy Nelson. He spoke from his perspective on how people should treat other human beings. Roche shared his disapproval on Malik’s actions and words on Twitter.
“I’d at least send an email! It’s more formal. But it’s not about treating a woman like that, it’s about treating a human like that. It’s disrespectful. And the whole re-tweeting thing. He finished with her! Why antagonise it? It’s done! It’s a shame. He’s talented but he’s spoiled it.”
Edwards is said to be “great and smiling again.” Roche added that he and others are attempting to set her up with guitarist Charley Bagnall.
Malik was last seen out with his mother at Mastro’s Steakhouse in Beverly Hills, California on Friday, Aug. 28. The solo artist donned a white Hood By Air shirt, jeans, and Jordan sneakers. His mom wore jeans, a black tank shirt, and carried a black Louis Vuitton purse.
