The NFL season has been known to be ridden with injuries from football stars left and right. With the goal of taking home the Super Bowl trophy ever present in the minds of the NFL players, fans and followers of the sport know fully well that their favorite NFL teams will stop at nothing to achieve that end - that is, until their plans are thwarted by injuries. In what could only be regarded as a devastating loss for the Green Bay Packers over the weekend, the NFL team's wide receiver, Jordy Nelson, fell victim to a serious knee injury during the preseason match against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With this latest incident involving Jordy Nelson added to the string of injuries accumulated over the course of the NFL preseason, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers further pointed out that the number of games should be shortened. According to the Green Bay Packers quarterback, the sheer number of matches scheduled before and during the NFL season would most likely contribute to the wear and tear of the bodies of NFL players. Hence, the Green Bay Packers star believes that lowering the number of games could definitely benefit the players as the NFL stars would be given more time to heal and recover from the training sessions and actual games during the NFL regular season.

However, Aaron Rodgers' idea does not receive a unanimous backing from the rest of the NFL teams. In an interview with MLive.com, the safety of Detroit Lions, Glover Quin, shares that the number of NFL games had no connection to what happened to Jordy Nelson last Sunday. While the Detroit Lions star commiserates with the situation of the Green Bay Packers receiver, Quin believes that it was in Jordy Nelson's fate to incur an injury this NFL season - regardless of the time, place and occasion.

"I hated Jordy got hurt," shared Quin in the interview. The Detroit Lions star went on to say, "But in my beliefs, and the way I believe, it was -- God meant for Jordy to get hurt." Quin then further explained his comment and said, "If he wouldn't have got hurt [on Sunday], if he wouldn't have played in that game, if he wouldn't have practiced anymore, and the next time he walked on the field would have been opening day, I feel like he would have got hurt opening day."

While the Green Bay Packers may see the injury of Jordy Nelson as an unfortunate incident, Quin thinks that the NFL preseason match actually provided a silver lining nonetheless. Pointing out the positive aspect that could be gleaned from the latest NFL injury added to the roster, the Detroit Lions player shared that time is on the side of the Green Bay Packers and all hope is not lost for the NFL team.

"They've got three weeks to make adjustments and prepare before opening day, as opposed to it happening opening day and now you're in the season and now Jordy gets hurt," shared Glover. The NFL star added, "It happening in the preseason, you hate that it happened, but that gives them time to make adjustments and try to find something."
