Since ‘Teen Wolf’ reached its third season, Parrish's true identity has become a major subject of speculation among fans. As the hit MTV show’s season five continues to unfold, the series is set to expose the supernatural side of Ryan Kelley’s character in the season 5A finale.

According to series creator, Jeff Davis told Zap2it in June that fans will "exactly" learn about Parrish's supernatural identity in the first 10 episodes of the fifth season. As the tenth episode of the current installment airs on Monday, it is only a matter of days before fans finally find out about what kind of creature Parrish is.

"I hope he's not an experiment, but he could be," Kelley said about his character. "The Dread Doctors always seem to be a step ahead of everyone and Parrish seems to be playing right into their hands, but it depends on how you look at it. Is he with the Dread Doctors, is he not? Is he doing his own thing, his own evil thing?"

The 28-year-old actor previously opened up to TVLine about saying no to showrunner Jeff Davis' offer to discover the supernatural identity of his character, explaining that he might portray his role in a different manner if he knew so much about the role.

In a recent interview with TVLine, the 28-year-old actor called to the mind the moment he learned about Parrish's real identity.

"I think Jeff just randomly walked up to me while I was passing time by myself on set. He just hit me with it, then walked away like nothing happened," Kelley said.

The news was not a big surprise for him as Parrish's supernatural identity is a creature that the actor has already heard of before.

"I'm a big nerd, so there are a lot of things I'd been speculating about, which I don't think people would have known," Kelley shared. "I love everything supernatural, Greek mythology, all that. I had a pretty good handful of things I thought Parrish was, so it didn't shock me."

Looking into the ‘Teen Wolf’ rumors, the popular speculation is that Parrish is a Phoenix. After surviving the fire set by Deputy Haigh, he was spotted going back to the sheriff's station having no clothes on and covered in ash.

Being resistant to fire, fans are speculating that he might be comparable to a phoenix, a supernatural creature that also symbolizes infinity as suggested by its continuous cycle of death and regeneration.

If the tides turn, Kelley said he is fine if he becomes a villain in the series.

"I'm OK with him being evil, as long as I live. I just don't want to get killed off," he said.
