Following the cancellation of ‘19 Kids And Counting’ on TLC, Jessa Duggar-Seewald’s spirits have reportedly been dampened as the former reality star was said to have been looking forward to her pregnancy and childbirth delivery being documented on the network.
After the third daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar shared the big news that she was expecting her first child with husband Ben, sources close to the Christian clan claimed that she was thrilled to enjoy some spotlight on her own growing family.
“It's now bittersweet,” a family insider said in an interview with People. “It's not lost on her that Jill giving birth to Israel got an entire TLC special devoted to it.”
Jessa is due to give birth on Nov. 1, her first wedding anniversary with Ben.
Before her older brother Josh's molestation scandal graced the headlines in May, the 22-year-old had reportedly looked forward to her own time in the family's reality series.
“She was in such a joyous moment in her life,” the unnamed source claimed. “Instead the show isn't there to chronicle this happy time… So much has changed for Jessa compared to what Jill experienced and it can't be changed back. And that's sad for her.”
Nonetheless, Jessa has attempted to keep a public profile by taking to social media and posting regular updates of her growing baby bump.
For instance, she shared an update as she entered her 28th week; reaching out to her 174,000 followers on Twitter, the mother-to-be posted a photo where she posed in front of the Staten Island Ferry terminal in New York City with Ben.
Jessa also tweeted a photo from aboard the ship and jokingly said that she has already reached "that point in your pregnancy where your belly button start to act like a pop-up turkey timer!"
She and Ben also came up with a poll and asked their followers to vote on whether they think the pair will be having a boy, a girl or even twins.
The Christian couple has also created their own website where they post videos and share inspiring messages.
Meanwhile, older sister Jill has already moved away with her husband Derick Dillard and their two-month-old son, Israel, to Central America.
The family traveled to El Salvador where the 24-year-old mother and her husband are taking on missionary work in rural areas.
“Yes, it was 'God's calling' but it was God's calling at exactly the moment it made the most sense for her and Derick and the baby to get away from the spotlight,” the source told People.
The couple briefly went back to the US to attend the wedding of Jill's friend, ‘Bringing Up Bates’ star Michaella Bates, to Brandon Keilen in Tennessee.
