Both Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Zac Efron are pretty pumped up to start working on the "Baywatch" movie, and have been overwhelmed by fans' positive support for the remake.

However, original "Baywatch" star Pamela Anderson, who played lifeguard C.J. Parker in the series that was popularized during the 90s does not share their enthusiasm and even thinks that doing a remake of the series is a bad idea.

"No one appreciates the remakes," she told TMZ.

She then explained that "Baywatch" would not work in 2015 because the 90s were "a sweeter, simpler time" for television.

She went on to say that being a part of the "Baywatch" series has been the best time of her life. Unfortunately, she has not been called up to reprise her role for the movie remake.

On the other hand, another star from the original series David Hasselhoff, who plays lifeguard Mitch Buchannon has reportedly been asked to appear in the film, but nothing has been finalized yet since he is asking for an unbelievable amount of money for his possible involvement.

Johnson earlier shared his thoughts about the movie on his personal Instagram account by posting a photo of himself and Efron. "Cool to see the INSANE global reaction to our announcement yesterday for Zac Efron to co-star with me in BAYWATCH," he wrote.

Johnson joked that Efron is "clearly one unattractive dude" but he is a great actor who is "ready to make something epic."

"BAYWATCH is the most successful TV property of all time, so I'm fired up to produce it along with my long time producing partner Beau Flynn @flynnpictureco and legendary Ivan Reitman. Director Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief) has a dope vision and is ready to roll," he added. "Over the past few years I've taken careful steps with this franchise cause we want to do it right - big, fun, global, sexy and bad mixed in with 'This is my beach' kind of RATED R comedy."

They will start shooting the film on 2016 and to fuel fans' excitement even further, Johnson teased: "Just wait 'til you see who we cast for our girls."

For his part, Efron said that their version of "Baywatch" would be completely different from the original series and that Johnson is cooking up some big plans for it. "I think we're going like pretty big with it and I don't think it's going to be much like the old Baywatch to be honest. I think we're going to kind of reinvent it in a big way," he said.
