‘Teen Wolf’ showrunner Jeff Davis recently opened up about the ongoing fifth season of the MTV supernatural drama, stating that it was meant to be the last one.
During his appearance on Artist Alley Podcast, Davis answered a question about the future of the hit series, and the podcast host was mainly concerned about learning whether Scott (Tyler Posey) and his pack will ever make it to a high school graduation.
"We're still debating that because, I have to be honest, I thought season five was it. I thought we were ending," replied Davis, who officially announced the ‘Teen Wolf’ season 6 renewal at last month's San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).
"I have no idea what's going to happen with season six," Davis added, quipping, "I have no idea if I'll be alive after 5B."
However, actor Posey has already let some of his ideas for season six made known. Speaking at their panel for SDCC, the 23-year-old actor said that it would be fascinating to see their characters outside of Beacon Hills High School.
"The high school itself is its own character," he said. "It's really such a vital part of our show. It's been around since the first episode ... [So] we could just carry it on into college, you know."
He added, "Scott has a lot of aspirations to go to a really good college, so maybe it just kind of transcends into college. But I think it's really cool to see what Beacon Hills and Teen Wolf would be like without a school aspect in it, you know? They have more time to kick ass and to save lives and to fall in love."
Posey also opened up about the possibilities of a time jump.
"It would be in the future. Not too long in the future, but Scott would be like in his 20s," he said of his time jump idea for season 6. "… That's all I'm gonna say because I've got cool ideas, but I don't know if we're going to use them or not."
Meanwhile, Posey's onscreen love interest, Arden Cho, said that it could be an interesting concept to put the characters in an entirely different town next season, opening up to The Hollywood Reporter about Beacon Hills being “kind of crazy" to begin with.
"Can we just become superheroes and just go save the world and be teens by day and superheroes by night?" said Cho, who takes on the role of Kira in the MTV series. "I think that would be sort of amazing."
As Scott’s pack continues to deal with the Dread Doctors this season, MTV has already renewed ‘Teen Wolf’ for season six that will be comprised of 20 episodes.
