"Wolverine 3," which would be Hugh Jackman's last standalone film as the clawed mutant is a thing of curiosity for many fans, and now Patrick Stewart, who plays Professor Charles Xavier in the "X-Men" movies is teasing about some details of the upcoming film that is already being concocted by director James Mangold, writer Michael Green, and Jackman himself.

"There is a project in development. I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me," Stewart told Collider during an interview. "And the idea of an old Wolverine - I'm really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old. You know, he looks so great!"

Stewart is showcasing his sense of humor when he poked fun of Jackman's unbelievably good looks and physique. "I'm hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he'll make me look better, if that's the case," he jokingly said.

There are reports that the third "Wolverine" film will follow the 2008 comic book storyline called "Old Man Logan," which shows an old Wolverine in the future, who tragically outlives all of his fellow mutant superheroes and friends, only to witness that super villains are already running the country.

Someone told Stewart that Wolverine actually does not age so it would be hard to buy into Wolverine's aging process, but the seasoned actor only replied: "He's not supposed to. Unfortunately, actors do and so I think Hugh maybe has begun to get a little uncomfortable, and I know how that feels."

There was a time when Jackman seemed determined to keep on playing the most popular mutant in "X-Men," after he saw Michael Keaton's film "Birdman."

"I said to my wife, 'The moral is that I should never stop playing Wolverine. I've got to find a way to keep playing him until I die.' I know that someday they'll recast the role with another actor...I'd be happy if the role was eventually recast. It would mean that it had become iconic," he said.

Jackman undergoes extreme physical and emotional preparation every time he portrays Wolverine, and he constantly pushes himself to improve his craft.

"I always want to be in better shape than I was for the last one. I don't believe in stagnation. People say they try to maintain the status quo. But I believe the natural cycle means you're either advancing and getting closer to something or you're receding," he explained. "Every time I play Wolverine I want to go further, physically and emotionally."

"Wolverine 3" has been scheduled for a March 3, 2017 release.
