A new teaser for Shonda Rhimes' three Thursday night shows was recently unveiled online.
In the video, 'Grey's Anatomy' season 12, 'Scandal' season five and 'How to Get Away With Murder' season 2 was announced to have an official air date on Sept. 24.
The clip began with a voiceover that teased viewers with what they can expect from #TGIT, also known as 'Thank God It's Thursday.' In addition, the names of the lead female actresses starring in each series had been mentioned.
According to the clip, the three TV programs are known for putting forward intense and nail-biting scenes that leave viewers deeply interested from the beginning until the end.
Moreover, the teaser described 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Scandal' and 'How to Get Away With Murder' as TV shows that incorporate "jaw-dropping scenes that make tweeting a must."
Meanwhile, Rhimes previously spoke at the 2015 Television Critics Association summer press tour to offer details about the upcoming seasons of these successful ABC shows.
For 'Grey's Anatomy' season 12, Rhimes opened up about Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) continuing to pick up the pieces as she deals with the death of Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey).
Rhimes also spoke of how April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson's (Jesse Williams) marriage will end up. In ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, Jackson challenged April to not re-enlist in the service. However, the showrunner revealed that in season 12, April did sign up, which could eventually bring on certain consequences on her relationship with her partner.
In addition, viewers can also look forward to Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona’s (Jessica Capshaw) own storylines as Rhimes shared that the two will be moving on and could finally have company in new romantic interests.
"Definitely some new romances for them this season, and some pretty exciting ones, too, which I think are going to be kind of interesting," Rhimes said
For 'Scandal' season five, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) will finally have that long-awaited reunion as they tried their best to make excuses and stay away from each other. President Fitz will also mull over the legal processes in ending his marriage to Mellie (Bellamy Young).
On 'How to Get Away With Murder' season 2, Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) will turn out to be one of the suspects in the murder of Rebecca Sutter (Katie Findlay). The killer will also be identified n the premiere episode of the second season.
'Grey's Anatomy' season 12 will air at 8 p.m. ET, followed by 'Scandal' season five at 9 p.m. ET and 'How to Get Away With Murder' season two at 10 p.m. ET.
