The fifth installment of the Ice Age franchise by 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios has been given the title’ Ice Age: Collision Course,’ its premiere date has also been pushed back by a week to avoid running into Sony’s ‘Ghostbusters’ remake as well as Lionsgate’s ‘La La Land.'

As such, ‘Ice Age: Collision Course’ has been moved from July 15 to July 22, 2016.

As of now, ‘Ice Age 5’ will be sharing a premiere date with one other movie by Warner Bros., the Guy Ritchie-helmed ‘King Arthur,' a feature film adaptation of the classic Sir Lancelot story starring Jude Law and Charlie Hunnam.

Denis Leary (Diego), Ray Romano (Manny), Queen Latifah (Ellie), John Leguizamo (Sid), Keke Palmer (Peaches) and the rest of the crew will be back for another jam-packed adventure film, which is directed by Mike Thurmeier and Galen T. Chu.

Also featuring the return of Jay Leno, who voiced Fast Tony in ‘Ice Age: The Meltdown,’ plot details for ‘Collision Course’ are unknown.

The last film, ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift,’ was released in 3D on July 13, 2012. Helmed by Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier, it was the first time that Carlos Saldanha did not work on an ‘Ice Age’ installment.

Aside from the regular voices, ‘Ice Age 4’ featured a number of new celebrities, including Peter Dinklage, Jennifer Lopez, Drake and Nicki Minaj. The film follows the gang’s story several few years after the events that changed Manny and Ellie’s lives in the third film, with Peaches in her teenage years.

Scrat's continuous pursuit of acorns brings on world-changing consequences once again, separating Manny, Sid and Diego from the others and putting them forward to stand up against a pirate crew led by Captain Gutt (Dinklage).

At present, the past four ‘Ice Age’ films have already pulled in $729.6 million domestically and made a total gross of $2.8 billion in the global box office with the last two movies raking in more than $850 million worldwide.

With positive reviews and strong performances in the box office, the ‘Ice Age’ franchise has inspired video games, live shows and even themed lands, including rides and attractions at the first 20th Century Fox theme park, also known as the 20th Century Fox World, as part of Resorts World Genting in Malaysia.
