With the Galaxy Note 5's rumored launch only a couple of days away, various sources are already beginning to list down what the public wants to see in Samsung's next flagship phablet.
Of course, since the upcoming device is a major brand carrier, it is expected to feature significant improvements over its predecessors.
Based on reports, it seems the number one problem users have with their Samsung devices is insufficient battery power. Despite the high-end features, Samsung can't seem to equip it devices with a big battery capacity to accommodate the needs of users.
The Galaxy S6, for example, came with a disappointing 2550 mAh battery. Sensing the lack of power, Samsung improved this by giving the Galaxy S6 Active with a larger battery capacity at 3500 mAh, according to Android Authority.
Hopefully, the company will execute the same move with the Galaxy Note 5. Since its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 4, came with a 3000 mAh battery pack.
Another expected feature in the Galaxy Note 5 is wireless charging. Since this is becoming a standard among next-gen handsets, it would be a logical step for Samsung to equip its upcoming device with this practical feature.
The third feature that Samsung should incorporate in its next flagship phablet is an upgraded processor. When the Galaxy Note 4 came out in 2014, it came with the Snapdragon 805. But since the Snapdragon 820 is not due to come out until next year, the next step for Samsung is probably to power the Galaxy Note 5 with the improved version of the Snapxdragon 810.
However, since the company has apparently stopped using Qualcomm chips in favor of its own processors, the Galaxy Note 5 could come out with an update Exynos SoC, such as the 7422 model, Droid Men reported.
In addition to these, Samsung should also improve the functionality of the Galaxy Note 5's stylus pen. When the Galaxy Note 4 first came out, a lot of users enjoyed using the S-Pen. However, many of them stopped using it because some of its features were a bit hard to master.
Hopefully, for its successor, Samsung will make the S-Pen easier to use and integrate its functions to the major features of the next device.
Lastly, it would be nice to see the Galaxy Note 5 feature an efficient fingerprint scanner. Although the Galaxy Note 4 did not come with this security feature, the devices that were released after it came with the biometric-based reader.
