Sony has officially unveiled to complete roster of free games that will be featured in August's PlayStation Plus program.
These six new games will be available for free for PlayStation Plus subscribers starting on August 4.
The first game in Sony's list according to the PlayStation Blog is "Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris." Released in December of last year for multiple platforms, this game will make its PS Plus debut as a PlayStation 4 title.
It serves as a sequel to 2010's "Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light" and features a co-op game play system that can accommodate up to four players.
"Limbo," on the other hand, first came out in 2010 as an exclusive game for Xbox Live Arcade. It is a puzzle-platform game that follows the story of a nameless young male character.
The game features a 2D side-scroller type of game play and requires users to use the character's surroundings to solve puzzles and either to avoid or take on enemies. "Limbo" will be available to PlayStation 4 owners through PS Plus next month.
The third game on the list is "Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones" for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. This is a 2D puzzle-platform game that officially came out last year.
In the game, players take on the role of a clone, or multiple clones, as they escape a testing facility and uncover the truth behind their existence.
The game features a level editor mode which allows gamers to create and customize their own stages.
Next up is "Sound Shapes" for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Exclusively developed for the PlayStation platform in 2012, the game is a side-scrolling platformer with a musical theme.
Another game that will be featured by PS Plus for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita is "CastleStorm: Complete Edition. This is a tower-defense game that first came out in 2013. It requires users to use different types of strategies to ward off the advancing hordes of enemies.
Last on the list is "God of War: Ascension" for the PlayStation 3. Like other titles from the "God of War" series, "Ascension" takes place in an alternate version of ancient Greece. It follows the story of the Spartan warrior Kratos as he takes on various mythological monsters after breaking his oath to his former master Ares, the God of War.
Although it is the seventh installment in the series, the game's story serves as the prequel for the entire "God of War" franchise.
