Former cast members of ‘Game of Thrones’ have reportedly quizzed Kit Harington as to how his character will end up in the TV series, including Jack Gleeson, known for playing the evil King Joffrey until 2014.
Despite firing questions at Harington for the actor to tell the truth about Jon Snow’s fate, Gleeson never obtained details about the Night’s Watch Lord Commander’s future. The 23-year-old actor also said he became suspicious when Harington refused to talk about his contract for the HBO hit program.
In an interview with The Daily Beast, Gleeson opened up about his conversation with his 28-year-old co-star, sharing: "I remember speaking to him maybe about a year ago, after I finished, and they were resigning contracts and I kind of asked him offhand how many years was the contract for, and he was like: 'I can't tell you.’
The Trinity College alum also assured fans that, just like most of his former cast members, he does not have a single idea about Jon’s future.
“I was instantly exited from the group of secrecy so I'm in the dark just as much as everyone else,” he admitted.
Since season five ended in June, viewers have gotten excited trying to determine whether Lord Eddard Stark’s (supposed) bastard will live or die in the drama fantasy series.
Harington has already fuelled speculations that Jon will still make an appearance in the upcoming season after being spotted in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where certain scenes for the show are filmed.
The ‘Pompeii’ actor was also spotted on a walk with co-star Ben Crompton, who portrays Night’s Watch member Eddison Tollett.
Several fans reportedly asked to take photos with Harington while out and about; however, the British actor is said to have refused, explaining that he has been required to not attract too much attention while staying in the capital.
Another ‘piece of evidence’ to support the speculation that Jon is alive comes from Pedestrian, which has claimed that HBO sent an email to endorse its new toy collection Honour The Fallen: The Memoriam Collection.
The toy range includes figurines of characters who have been killed off in the last five seasons, including King Joffrey, Oberyn Martell and The Hound. Interestingly, fans have noticed that Jon’s figurine was not included in the collection.
‘Game Of Thrones’ is set to return for its sixth season in spring 2016; an official premiere date is yet to be announced. Production is already in progress as several cast members were spotted filming scenes on their respective locations.
