Fox has recently unveiled two new teasers for the second season of the drama series ‘Gotham.’
Following the reports about the show adding on more cast members, one of the promos shows a number of new villains who are set to wreak havoc in Gotham City in the next season.
A young Bruce Wayne and his loyal butler Alfred is also shown heading down into the soon-to-be Batcave in one of the trailers.
In the clip, the show’s lead, Jim Gordon, can be seen facing Commissioner Loeb, his nemesis in the first season. The duo was shown having disagreements in Season 1, and will still be battling each other until the next season.
Gordon, played by Ben McKenzie, also makes a promise to Loeb that he will not back down in waging war against the commissioner.
In addition, Gordon can be seen getting more involved in his bizarre friendship with Penguin. Following the chaotic underworld battle in the finale of Season 1, Penguin has come out as the Mayor of the Gotham underground crime world. Strangely, the detective is shown to be looking for help from the criminal once again.
Aside from the ongoing themes incorporated into the first season, the new teaser also sheds light on the ‘Rise of the Villains.’ As previously confirmed by the producers, the second season of ‘Gotham’ will bring in a group of new enemies.
Through the trailer, fans can have a first glimpse of the whip-wielding Tigress, the Joker and a couple more villains that Gordon will be facing.
Fortunately, Captain Nathaniel Barnes will be appearing in the upcoming season in the form of actor Michael Chiklis to give the detective some much-needed back-up force.
In another clip, the young Bruce Wayne and his butler Alfred can be seen descending into the staircase that appeared in the last episode of Season 1, which fans believed to become the Batcave.
Wayne and Alfred hesitantly take a stroll and find out about a security panel that protects the secret chamber.
‘Gotham’ is scheduled to return for a second season this fall as its premiere episode is set to air on Monday, September 21, on Fox.
