One of the biggest concerns fans seem to have about "Castle" season 8 is the fact that the marriage of Nathan Fillion's charismatic writer Rick Castle and Stana Katic's smart and sassy detective Kate Beckett would be on the rocks, especially now that there would be a new character determined to drive a wedge between the couple.

That new character is "The Neighbors" star Toks Olagundoye, who will play a security specialist named Hayley Vargas, who has been described as "a quick-witted, free-spirited former Scotland Yard police officer who works as a security specialist and isn't afraid to cross lines to get things done."

She will reportedly strike up a close relationship with Castle, much to Beckett's displeasure. However, Fillion is telling fans not to be upset about the new developments because things will work out fine in the end.

"Don't be worried," he said with a smile during TV Line's Comic-Con interview suite at the Hard Rock Hotel. "In order for a show to continue and to move forward, things have to change, and things have changed, every year, for these two."

However, despite his assurance, Fillion refused to reveal any more details about "Castle" season 8, particularly with regards to Hayley. He also dodged any questions about the show's possible ninth season.

His co-star Katic, on the other hand, teased fans on Twitter that the next season of Castle will have fans on the edge of their seats.

"Had a great mtg w @AlexiHawley & @OldManWinter14 about S8! (Nail-biter) Love #Castle cast&crew. Looking forward to playing together again," she wrote.

But whether or not Katic was referring to the "CasKett" tandem or the mysteries they will solve remains to be seen.

Production for "Castle" is undergoing a bit of a creative shake-up for its eighth season, with Alexi Hawley ('The Following') returning to serve as co-showrunner alongside veteran Terence Paul Winter. The duo took over the series from David Amann.

Moreover, it will be the first time "Castle" will plow through without series creator Andrew Marlowe and his writer slash producer wife Terri Miller.

One of the show's regular cast members, Captain Gates, played by Penny Johnson Jerald has also been removed from the show's line-up. The character was played by Penny Johnson Jerald. They instead added "The Walking Dead" alum Sunkrish Bala as a season regular. Bala will be playing Vikram Singh, described to be a high-strung tech analyst who has a complicated past.
