The worlds of "Ant-Man" and "Doctor Strange" might seem far removed from each other, but Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) President Kevin Feige said that there's actually a link tying both movies together.

The studio is currently "scratching the surface of the Marvel mind trip, the mind-bending natures of reality, which is something that we're going to completely go off the rails with in 'Doctor Strange,'" Feige told Entertainment Weekly.

The only possible connections both realms might have seem to be the Quantum Realm, the subatomic dimension wherein time and space become irrelevant.

"Doctor Strange," which will be directed by Scott Derrickson and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character has been slated for a November 4, 2016 release, and EW cannot wait that long for answers so they sought out "Ant-Man" director Peyton Reed and asked about the connection.

"There may well be a link between the Quantum Realm and alternate realities and parallel universes and 'Doctor Strange,'" he revealed. "The definite link is that psychedelic era of the Marvel comics world - the late '60s, early '70s stuff."

"It was something that Adam McKay, the 'Ant-Man' co-writer and I really wanted to bring to the 'Ant-Man' movie," added Reed. "We knew that there was going to be a lot of shrinking in the movie, but we wanted to take it even further in the third act. There's a lot going on in the Quantum Realm and there's a lot of storytelling possibilities. The fact that Scott survives the Quantum Realm in the movie - which Hank Pym said is theoretically impossible - got Hank Pym spinning again, wondering about, 'Is there a possibility where my wife might be still alive down there?' So it may have set off this obsession again. It remains to be seen if that's a good thing or a bad thing."

To recall, Pym lost his wife Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp during one of their missions for S.H.I.E.L.D. The Wasp did not hesitate in sacrificing her life, shrinking down towards the Quantum Realm in order to save Pym and complete their mission.

The devastated scientist carried this secret for years, even refusing to reveal the truth to their daughter Hope Van Dyne until recently, when they bonded while training ex-convict Scott Lang to become the next Ant-Man.

During the "Ant-Man" post-credits scene, Pym even showed his daughter the new and improved Wasp costume and told her that she is ready to take it on.
