The huge joint photo was taken backstage at the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con and was shared on Twitter on July 16.

Meanwhile, fans also caught a first glimpse of the highly-anticipated trailers for ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and ‘Suicide Squad’ during such convention.

‘Batman v Superman’ makes its way to theaters on Mar. 25, 2016 while ‘Suicide Squad’ gets a later release date on Aug. 5, 2016.

Ben Affleck's Batman will reportedly make a cameo appearance in ‘Suicide Squad’ but such news is yet to be confirmed by the film's makers.

Developed by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru in the late 1950’s, the Suicide Squad team has featured numerous DC villains, including Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Bane, Killer Frost, Poison Ivy, Count Vertigo, Deathstroke, and Harley Quinn.

'Suicide Squad' initially refers to a team of incarcerated villains who are sent on highly dangerous secret missions by the government in exchange for shorter prison sentences.

Government agent Amanda Waller, who is portrayed by Oscar-nominated ‘The Help’ star Viola Davis, will be the person in charge of sending the villainous group to their special assignments.

Director Ayer, who previously worked on ‘Training Day’ and ‘Fury,’ has reassured fans that he will be closely following the original DC Comics source material.
