‘X-Men’ stars Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart officially joined singer Taylor Swift’s squad on Thurday, July 16. The two British actors recited lyrics to ‘Bad Blood’ and ‘Blank Space’ and politely asked Swift if they could both join her squad. Swift said that they were her squad goals.
Professor X joined NPR on “Ask Me Another” and recited lyrics to Swift’s hit single ‘Blank Space’ on Thursday. Stewart channeled his “inner Taylor Swift” while delivering the lines with “eloquence and gravitas” in his best Shakespearean acting voice.
“Screaming, crying, perfect storms. I could make all the tables turn. Rose garden filled with thorns. Keep you second guessing like oh my god. Who is she? I get drunk on jealousy, but you'll come back each time you leave. ‘Cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream,” said 75-year-old Stewart.
Magneto stopped by Yahoo’s office in New York City, New York and delivered lines from ‘Bad Blood’ on Tuesday. “'Cause, baby, now we got bad blood. You know it used to be mad love,” said McKellen. McKellan’s latest movie ‘Mr. Holmes’ hit theaters on Friday, July 17.
“So @IanMcKellen recited Bad Blood and I did Blank Space on @NPRAskMeAnother. May we join the squad, @taylorswift13?” tweeted Stewart on Thursday, July 16.
Swift thanked the ‘X-Men’ costars who are close friends for reciting her lyrics. She added that they made her day. “You two are ULTIMATE Squad Goals,” said Swift. The singer also posted a collage of ten photos of McKellen and Stewart, depicting their friendship to prove her point.
“Thanks for reciting my lyrics, @IanMcKellen and @SirPatStew! You've made my day. You two are ULTIMATE Squad Goals,” tweeted Swift.
Stewart, responded by saying “OMG I DIE!!! (no really, I might. I'm old.)” and also posted a photo of McKellen and himself standing on stage next to Swift and her best pals Gigi Hadid, Hailee Steinfeld, Lena Dunham, and Lily Aldridge.
“I hope this means I can finally wear leather pants in public...,” tweeted Stewart.
