Motorola has been sending out invites for a mysterious event scheduled to take place on July 28.

Although the company has not yet confirmed the purpose of the event, various sources speculated that it might be the launch venue for the 2015 edition of the Moto G.

For the past few weeks, rumors about the Moto G 2015 have been swirling around online. And now, through an invitation sent out by Motorola, it seems the tech firm is preparing to officially introduce it to the public, according to Phone Arena.

"Yes. We're in a relationship with our phone," Motorola wrote on the invite. "We feel lost without it. We trust them with our most personal questions, photos, stories and secrets."

"They never leave our side," the company added. "But shouldn't all that care and devotion you show be returned? A better relationship is on its way."

Based on the invite, however, Motorola did not directly mention that it will unveil the Moto G 2015 on July 28.

But in a previous report by GSM Arena, which cited a tech news site based in Brazil, leaked details suggest that the 3rd generation of the Moto G handset will be introduced on this date. It is then expected to hit retail stores sometime in August.

Aside from the possible launch date, the source revealed that the Moto G 2015 will come with a 5-inch touch screen display with a 720p resolution. It will be powered by the quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset from Qualcomm.

The upcoming device, which will reportedly be released in multiple storage variants, will come in 1GB and 2GB RAM versions. These will pack 8GB and 16GB of internal storage, respectively.

As for its camera features, the handset is expected to house a 13-megapixel rear shooter paired with a 5-megapixel selfie snapper.

But since Motorola has not yet issues a statement regarding its upcoming event, it is not yet confirmed if the Moto G 2015 will be unveiled later this month.

However, since the invite clearly indicates that the event is about a smartphone, Motorola might take this opportunity to introduce the latest iteration of one of its handset models, such as the 2015 Moto X.

This 3rd generation smartphone is expected to come with a 5.2-inch display and the Snapdragon 810 chipset. It will reportedly be launched as a Droid-based flagship handset for Verizon.

In addition, a rugged and water-proof version of the Moto X 2015, dubbed as the Moto X Sport, might also be unveiled this month.
