"Wonder Woman" writer Grant Morrison is not exactly pleased with what director Zack Snyder did to the character, based on the pictures he has seen of Israeli-born actress Gal Gadot sporting the female superhero's costume.

"I can understand why they're doing it, I get all that, but that's not what 'Wonder Woman' creator William Marston wanted, that's not what he wanted at all!" he told Nerdist in an interview. "You see the latest shots of Gal Gadot in the costume, and it's all sword and shield and her snarling at the camera. Marston's Diana was a doctor, a healer, a scientist."

Morrison is currently working on a new "Wonder Woman" graphic novel entitled "Wonder Woman: Earth One" for D.C., so even though he cannot do anything about "Wonder Woman" in the movies, he can still build the character back up in such a way that would give justice to Marston's vision.

"What would a society of immortal women that's been around for 7,000 years have done? They wouldn't still be chopping men's head's off; they've got art and architecture and philosophy and poetry and it's got nothing to do with men," he shared. "So Yanick Paquette did this amazing design job, where there are no phallic objects. The only phallic objects are like these Greek towers that are almost like this haunting echo of the culture they came from."

For the first 48 pages of the graphic novel, Morrison revealed that there would be no men - only women talking to each other. Halfway through the book, the writer thought of including a big fight, but then thought better of it. He explained that the book is not about fights so he would not be including any.

"It's the most exciting book I've done in years, it changed everything I'm thinking about the future," he admitted.

Going back to "Wonder Woman" in the movies, the character will be making her first appearance in the film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" which will star Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill as the two disgruntled superheroes going against one another. It will be shown on March 25, 2016.

Snyder said that Gadot's Wonder Woman is a key character in the movie, and would serve as the "gateway drug" to the rest of the Justice League. "The Social Network" star Jesse Eisenberg will also be portraying the iconic villain Lex Luthor in the movie.
